Game 1: 2-2 going into the 9th

Game 2: 3-2 O’s going into the 9th

Game 3: 1-0 O’s going into the 9th

Game 4: 1-1 going into the 9th

Wow.  Since the Division Series was added in 1995 never have all four series gone to a deciding 5th game.  In fact only once in each League’s history have both series gone 5 games: the AL in 2001 and the NL in 2011.  This has truly been an amazing October.  The Giants battling back from 0-2, the Nats forcing a game 5 on Werth’s game-winner homer, and the Oakland A’s battling to the very end.

The Yanks/Orioles series has been no different.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen pitching like that, on both sides, 4 games in a row, playoffs or not.  To think that to this point, both of these teams, with power to spare, have combined for 22 runs in 43 innings is simply mind-boggling.  The O’s did just enough to win last night, 2-1, and they deserved it.  Whatever happens tonight, it has been a remarkable series and one that we will remember for a long time, or try desperately to forget.
