The Yanks celebrate winning the 1996 World Series (NY Daily News)

Between 1996 and 2000 the Yankees won an incredible 14 World Series games in a row.  After falling behind the Braves 0-2, the Yankees won the last 4 games of the 1996 series.  Sweeps of the Padres and Braves followed in 1998 and 1999, then the Yanks won the first 2 games of the 2000 Subway Series against the Mets.  The Yankees went on to beat the Mets in 5 games, having won 16 of their last 17 World Series games.
