With 3 games remaining in the regular season the Yankees and Twins were locked in a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the 9th inning.  With 1 out, Aaron Fultz walked Hideki Matsui on six pitches, bringing up Bernie Williams.  His numbers had dipped in recent year–in 2004 he hit 22 home runs while hitting .262–but he was still a potent threat at the plate.  On a 1-0 count Bernie sent a blast to deep left field giving the Yankees a 6-4 win for their 100th victory of the season and 7th straight American League East title.  Said manager Joe Torre, “This time of year seems to bring out the best in him.”

I was thinking it would be nice for me to end it.  Playing wiffle ball with my brothers back in Puerto Rico, we pictured this situation over and over again.
