Keeler on an American Tobacco Company baseball card, circa 1909

“Wee” Willie Keeler played for the Highlanders from 1903 to 1909.  His nickname was aptly given as he stood 5’4″ tall and weighing only 140 pounds, but he was still a force at the plate.  In 2,123 games he recorded 2,932 hits, 810 RBIs, and a batting average of .341.  He did this all while using his 30 1/2″, 29 ounce bat, the shortest in Major League history.

He may have been small in size but he was huge with the bat.
