Alex Rodriguez‘ dramatic 9th inning home run tied the game at 3, but in the top of the 11th the Twins loaded the bases after 3 straight singles from Joe Mauer, Jason Kubel, and Michael Cuddyer with nobody out.  Doing his best Houdini impersonation, David Robertson induced a lineout, a groundout, and a fly out to get the Yanks out of the inning.  It was the last chance the Twins would have.

Teixeira led off the 11th and after getting ahead of Jose Mijares 2-1, he hit an absolute laser to left that hit off the top of the wall and bounced into the seats to give the Bombers a thrilling 4-3 win and Yankee Stadium its first magical moment.

I don’t think there’s anything better in sports.  Best place to play in the world.
