3 times a New York Yankee has recorded 6 hits in a single game.

Myril Hoag was the first to accomplish the feat on June 6, 1934 in a 15-3 victory over the Red Sox.  The left fielder went 6-for-6 with 3 runs and an RBI.

The second occurred nearly 62 years later when left fielder Gerald Williams went 6-for-8 in an 11-6 victory over Baltimore in 15 innings.  Williams scored once and added 3 RBIs.

Then, on June 7, 2008, a 3rd left fielder joined the exclusive club, going 6-for-6 with 6 singles, a run, and 4 RBIs in a thrilling 12-11 win against Kansas City.  Damon’s 6th hit came in the bottom of the 9th with the game knotted at 11.  He stroked the 5th pitch he saw from Royals closer Joakim Soria to right field, scoring Wilson Betemit for a walk off win.
