5/3/1938 | Gehrig steals home in a 5-1 victory over the St. Louis Browns (90FeetofPerfection)

In his imitable 17 year career with the Yankees, Lou Gehrig did it all.  He clubbed 493 home runs–still a record among 1st basemen–he batted .373 or higher in a season 3 times, and he earned a career batting average of .340.  What Gehrig was not known for was his base-stealing, and with good reason as he stole 102 career bases and was caught stealing 100 times.  However, he did successfully steal home 14 times.
