Growing up in Puerto Rico, Jorge Posada never had the opportunity to watch Thurman Munson play baseball, but he had heard enough stories about the Yankee legend from his father to want to emulate him.  He became a catcher and wore #15, Munson’s number, at every level he played until reaching the Yankees.

Before every game at Yankee Stadium, Posada would leave his locker, adorned with a Munson quotation, walk out to Monument Park and tap Munson’s monument before taking his place behind home plate, where his hero once reigned supreme.
